IOH-OOH | Yes, the year of the Rat for the Chinese. I am a Malay but most of my friends here are Chinese, as 60% of 2.4 Million population in Singapore are.
So we're looking at closed shops and markets for the length of about 3 to 4 days.
fortunately, there are MacDonald's and other western eateries where most of the non-working population will go out to eat during this festive period.
Andrew | Words of wisdom are so true and mostly hit home for me. That is why I like them to inspire me. Just like your poems... set me thinking.
Tanie | Thanks, though I don't celebrate the Chinese New Year, the 4 day-long weekend is totally welcomed with zest.
This, coming from "no work, all fun makes this guy a... flake" and loving it.
I am not Chinese, but Happy New Year to you as well. This is the year of the Rat, yes?
